Between 2014 and 2017, INESC developed in the Federal District actions to encourage the productive inclusion of waste collectors in situations of social risk.
In partnership with the local government, the Pro-Catador Project carried out activities of mobilization, registration, diagnosis, training, technical assistance, and incubation of cooperatives, associations, and groups of collectors who work in cooperation networks in the Federal District. These activities also counteracted the precariousness of working conditions and the exclusion of workers living off of waste collection.
